3D Room Layout Prep Sheet

The purpose of this Prep Sheet is to provide you with a place to record information that you'll need after you go back online and place your order. Take your time and the whole process will be very easy and fun. To help keep track, just check the boxes as you complete each task.

 Room Design Layout Information:

Get the room shape you printed out or drew earlier and perform the following:

•  First, starting will "Wall A", measure the length of the wall and write its length on the drawing adjacent to the wall. Repeat this process for each additional wall until every wall is measured.
•  Next, indicate the locations of any doors, windows, closets, stairways, chimneys and provide their width and height dimensions. Just concentrate on one wall at a time. It may seem complicated, but it's actually very easy to just focus on one item at a time.
•  Next, if your floor steps down or slopes down indicate it's area on the drawing and write down the amount of drop or rise.
•  Next, sketch in the location of your existing furniture using squares, rectangles, triangles or circles. Label each item and provide its dimensions by providing the length, width and height.
•  Finally, indicate your ceiling height by simply writing on the drawing "CH=", followed by the actual ceiling height. If the ceiling is vaulted or cathedral, indicate this as well.
•  That's It! You are now ready to step into the world of virtual home design!

Alternatively, if you are a current Plan 3D subscriber, you could use Plan 3D to create your existing room layout and simply upload that information later when requested.

 Comments/Special Instructions:

Provide us with any preferences, style choices or any other additional information that might help us make the room layout as exact as possible.

 Taking Pictures:

We need at least one picture aimed at each wall and two angled pictures of the room. It's all the fine details in a room that will provide us with the keys to unlock the secret of what your optimal 3D Room Layout truly is. Keep in mind that lighting is critical when taking pictures inside, so open your draperies and turn on all your lights or even add some extra lighting if necessary.

If your room is empty or does not yet exist, you can also provide pictures of furniture items you would like us to use. In addition, if you found a room design or room theme you really like, you can also include a picture of that view and we can use that to help create your new design.

 Putting It All Together:

OK, now double check that you have followed all the steps that apply to you and that you have the information written down. Don't trust anything to memory.

Next, go back online to the Placement Page by selecting the Bookmark you saved or just type in http://www.designingonline.com/services/layouts/placement.html

Go to the bottom of the page and read our Satisfaction Guarantee, then click on the "Make It Real" submit button.

• Credit Card - You can pay by credit card - Discover, American Express, Visa and Master Card are accepted.
• Check or Money Order - You can mail in a check or money order. You will be prompted to make a copy of the form and then send it to the address indicated along with your check or money order. Expect a 7 to 10 day delay.

After payment has been verified you will arrive at our project registration page where your room project will be assigned to an account. Once you are signed up and logged in, you will be able to provide us with the information you wrote on this Prep Sheet and Room Layout Drawing and also upload your JPG photos as well. If you are unable to upload any item, you can send it via regular mail and we would scan it and upload it for you.

 You're All Done!

Within a few days of receiving your information and pictures, we will send you an e-mail to let you know that we have started work on your 3D Room Layout Project. If anything is unclear to us, we will ask you at that time.
