Submit Your Home & Garden Press Release
Submit your home and garden press release to get the publicity and traffic you need to get your new product or service off the ground. Designing Online's "Home and Garden News" selects the bulk of its press releases through PRWeb because they have Press Releases That Work.

Tips on Preparing Your Home and Garden Press Release
When an editor at Designing Online is looking for an article for our Home and Garden News section, there are certain characteristics that help us decide which press release to use. The list below explains this process in detail and as you will see, much of the decision making process occurs before we even read the submission.
- Since PR Web makes it easy to target specific industries
, we first look at what items are available in the following categories:
- Home and Family: Home Furnishings / Interiors
- Home and Family: Landscaping & Gardening
- Then we look to see if an image was provided as part of the press release as indicated by the
push pin. We only use press releases that provide images since we use images as an integral part of our news articles and RSS feeds. In addition, we prefer the image to be at least 350 pixels x 250 pixels and not just a logo or author image, but an actual image that helps to express the article.
- We then verify if the listing is provided with at least two gold stars
since they are necessary to obtain and utilize TrackBacks which provide even more publicity for the press release at both PR Web and Designing Online.
- We check to see if the title is expressing something that can be helpful to our readers. We are not interested in the standard announcements of new web sites or renovated web sites or new product listings. We are interested in unique services, new concepts and products that are interesting and helpful...and not just new or updated.
- We examine the description to verify that it is more than just a repetition of the first sentence of the press release. We desire a description that explains the purpose of the press release to some degree.
- Next we check to see if the press release is at least 500 words and/or 3500 characters long.
- Now we read the press release. We provide a lot of room for different writing styles, but overall, we like to find out about both the features and the benefits of the item. Specific and non-sales directed quotes from qualified individuals can also add a nice touch to an article.
- Finally, we like to find a company bio or profile that helps to more clearly identify the originator of the press release and provide any other useful information about the company that might not have been directly relevant to the press release. This is also a good place to provide any additional contact information or sales representative contacts.
With some variations, having taken the items above into consideration, we select a Press Release and add it to our Home and Garden News area and add it to our Home and Garden News RSS Feed and also place it in our next newsletter as well. If an e-mail address is available on the associated website, we will inform the author of our use of the press release.
If you would like your story to become a top story , follow the guidelines above and send your news now . In addition to us reviewing your press release for possible printing, you will get noticed by a large array of journalists that want your news .
Although we can't guarantee we will use any specific press release, if you send your news now , you will get noticed by thousands...each with the potential to make your story a top story . Your press release could even be your first step towards a TV interview . Bottom line, none of this is possible until you give it a try.
