Debut Website Features Home Furnishings with a Fresh Appeal that "Look Good Enough to Wear"

Onley Make Believe, decorative pillows, home accents, mail-order, catalog, interior design professionals, hand-crafted, galleries, placemats, tablerunnersSAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--May 01, 2002--Gerard Onley, designer for and proprietor of Onley Make Believe Decorative Pillows and Home Accents (OMB), today announced an expanded product line and the debut of the company’s website: www.onleymakebelieve.com.

Todays announcement marks a significant change for Onley Make Believe, which had operated for the past 5 years as a small at-home business with product information and customer orders delivered via a mail-order catalog. The website, featuring 3 galleries of designs and Onley’s recently-expanded 30-piece collection of furnishings, will now be a valuable and accessible resource for customers and interior design professionals.

The website showcases the OMB focus on custom pillows and table accents. According to Gerard Onley, "Onley Make Believe represents an exclusive and unique collection of custom, hand-crafted home furnishings for decorative residential and office environments. The new opportunities provided by an Internet presence will be beneficial for OMB and its customers, and I believe the new OMB site will quickly become a useful destination for interior design professionals."

The Designs Visitors to the site will discover a full list of OMB products and design specifications. The galleries feature detailed pop-up windows of each design, allowing customers to see the excellent workmanship and envision how the selection(s) may work in a particular setting. Featured pillow styles include "Kaleidoscope," "Route 66," "Tiffany," and "The Web." New products include an increased variety of pillow designs and an expanded line of accessories including placemats, and tablerunners.

Each showcased design is patterned and handcrafted based on the refreshing (and oft-forgotten) OMB styles of simplicity and elegance, reflecting Onley’s belief that high-end home furnishings should consist of unique details and not just the use of expensive fabrics.

elegance, fabric, Baldwin, Louisiana, The Buck Estate Revisited, Fashion Institute of Design, Los Angeles, Fillamento, Zona Home Furnishings, Aspen, ColoradoOMB has a standard design specification for fabrics, and offers all designs in either "blue collar" fabric (i.e. Cotton Duck) or 100% Linen. A select number of styles feature silk and cotton embroidery threads, silk ribbon, and raffia, elevating the pillow to what has often been described as "a work of art." In addition to these standard made-to-order design fabrics, OMB will also reproduce any selection in a fabric and/or color scheme provided by the customer. On the website, the entire collection is shown in Black and Cream and is priced from $150 for the basic pillow to $350 for a beaded pillow. Prices may vary for design work submitted by the client.

The Designer Gerard Onley, (a product of Baldwin, Louisiana), designer for and proprietor of Onley Make Believe, brings a refreshing look and feel to residential and office interior design. His design work for the Bay Area Designer Showcase "The Buck Estate Revisited", in 1996, was the inspiration behind the Onley Make Believe product line and business. With a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design, in Los Angeles, Onley has worked with a number of Bay Area designers and retailers, including the legendary San Francisco home furnishings icon Fillamento, and Zona Home Furnishings of Aspen, Colorado. His designs have also been featured in Bay Area publications including Gentry Magazine; California Home and Design Magazine; The San Francisco Chronicle Home Section (which headlined its article "Elegant Pillows that Look Good Enough to Wear"); and the San Francisco Examiner Sunday Magazine.
