Poetry Pages - Did you ever try and truly view the events in your life that belong to you? Have you ever sent your mind on a mission to bring back your past

Poem #1 - Poem #2 - Poem #3

The Awesome Pride of Ground Zero

Did you ever try and truly view
the events in your life that belong to you?

Have you ever sent your mind on a mission
to bring back your past memories and personal conditions?

Have you ever paused in a moment of pride,
to recall these things that took place in lifes stride?

Have you ever smiled or cried in the absence of pride
and when you answered yes or no, could you truly tell why?

Did you ever look with a smile of dismay
for those things you wished had gone the other way?

Can you shake your head and bring on a smile
because your not afraid to put Americas past on trial?

Are you proud of the fact and as proud as you can,
that you were born as an American?

Does your heartbeat stronger and in the same manner,
to the tone of God Bless America and the Star Spangled Banner?

Do you maintain a feeling of shock, fear and resolve,
when you stand up and fight back after one of lifes falls?

Can you pick up the tempo with a face showing pride,
knowing you'll do well and with nothing to hide?

Can you do all of this with pride in its place
and still look up to God with that smile on your face?

If you can't do it now will you promise to keep trying
because actions speak louder than tears while crying.

How many times will you visualize that mass from nine one one,the year 2001 past,
while trying to recall those heroes of the original cast?

So let a tear fall for those you love and call hero,
while America will never forget their Awesome Martyrs of Ground Zero,
Nor those from the Pentagon or that Philadelphia flight filled with heroes.

God Bless America and Cherish all of our heroes
from Americas New York City, the place of Ground Zero.
