It is a sad thing for me at times when I see how this world uses fear to motivate and manipulate people. Our media, society and religious beliefs often use fear to grip you, to keep you in line and to limit what all your real choices are.
We are all creative beings...mighty spirits ...sons of God...and we have the capacity to make our dreams come true...even if those dreams appear to be fearful and destructive. We have created the situation on the earth as it is and we are feeding it and feeding from it, all in a hurried madness of trying to make our lives safe and secure. We are not solving the problems by reacting to fear with fear and we need to look very hard at what it is we really want.
At this time, God is so pleased that we turned the attack against our country into a bonding of love and understanding within this country and throughout the world. We might not like what happens in the world, but we can rest peacefully in knowing that God works within the chaos we encounter or create. Even within our acts of kindness and love, fear can creep in and manipulate our goals and desires, but if we keep our minds on God, these fears will not be overwhelming.
Because certain portions of the worlds current events have been labeled as prophetic... and/or inevitable... some aspects of society are using prophesies as a means to justify the spread of fear. Many fearful and destructive prophecies are being told and expectations of their coming to life are desired and even hoped for. Ask yourself this, would God have you be happy that destructive events are coming near? Are you praying for an end to these actions and for peace to overcome the world or are you wanting the world to get so bad that your prophecies might come true? Do you use the fear of these prophecies as a means to bring attention to your beliefs?
Your answers will depend upon whether you believe in an angry and vengeful God or whether you believe that he is truly a forgiving and loving God. He can not be both. Thinking he can be both loving and vengeful is derived from how humans relate to one another and is dependant upon how this physical, social and political world works.
God is a spiritual being and does not think like us. His actions cannot be compared to how we might parent our problems...to say that he punishes us out of love as we do to our own children. When we punish our children out of love, it's because we have mistaken what we believe is the only way to reach that child. God is not as helpless and powerless as we are and doesn't need to punish us to get our attention. He is not without the wisdom, knowledge, patience and eternal time scale to work with us and draw us back to him. He is not so unlovable that he has to threaten to cast us into eternal hell fire just so that we might consider returning to him.
If God were so unlovable and fearful, why would any of us want to spend eternity with him? Would you desire to spend eternity with a being that won't forgive you unless certain conditions are met, meanwhile requiring you to forgive others without a second thought? Would God require something of us that He is not willing to do himself? Is God less forgiving and loving than us? We must realize that God is not like us and as long as we try to use our own emotions, feelings, traditions, ancient writings and experiences to explain him, he will appear to be angry and vengeful.
Everything you believe you know about God, his Son and the Holy Spirit, CAN NOT be based solely upon what others have told you or upon stories written thousands of years ago. It's not in your best interest to limit yourself and even chain yourself to beliefs that are thousands of years old and filled with traditions and folklore...especially if they make God into a vengeful and angry God.
One word spoken to you by God today is worth over a million words translated of what some persons perception of God was thousands of years ago. God has been speaking to us since time began. It's a wonderful thing that the Bible was written as a guideline for us to follow, but God never stopped talking and you can still hear him today. You do not need to limit what you allow yourself to hear out of fear that it may contradict your current beliefs. Pray about it and the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to you. Fear nothing. Truth never changes, but your perception of what truth is, can, will and must change in order for you to truly join with the spirit of God. Any walk towards God is a wonderful evolution of discovery as new truths become more and more apparent to you. Be still, open minded and willing and he will speak to you. He's speaking to you right now.
God has no reason to be angry at you, no matter what anyone may have written or may say today. WE ARE THE ONES WHO DISTANCED OURSELVES FROM GOD. Not the other way around. He didn't condemn us... we turned our backs on him. He does not judge, but we feel guilty that we turned on him and thus we created this entire world where we believe God is against us and wishes to punish us unless we do exactly as he says. We're afraid to face him at times and therefore have made him out to be the bad guy, but he's not. We just need to see him as he truly is and all our fears will fade away.
God is not as complicated as our world has made him out to be. He is Love. He is the absence of fear. He is Peace. He is the absence of war. He is what he always has been and no man-made traditions, religions or institutions have changed him. He is our spiritual Father and the one that our spirits deeply yearn to be reunited with. He wants everyone of us back in his presence and he is doing everything he can to do this, while not taking away our free will. Meanwhile, He just loves us and is waiting patiently for us to return.
God does not and will not make it difficult for you to reach him. To Stop The Fear in your life, just hand him your guilt from the past, because you can't undo it, and hand him your fears and apprehension of the future, because you can't control them, and allow him to heal your spirit and mind Today. Release your fear and look upon your brother and this world with true and total forgiveness, peace and love.
As terrorist alerts are announced and as we contemplate wars with others, you can be aware, but Do Not Fear. God is with you and as long as you allow him to influence your life, you will see that EVERYTHING that happens is being used for the greater good. Live in peace and gradually your peace will spread to those around you and to the world.
