I opened my eyes, but saw not a thing
as darkness beyond darkness abound.
Flat on my back, not a light to be seen
as I stretched my eyes all around.
Though darkness surround me and covered my soul
I felt such joyous and heart filling peace.
I knew not its source nor its intent
but I prayed it would never cease.
I struggled with concepts, fears and rejection
As I fought to rise up onto my knees.
Can't let anything stop me from walking the path
though filled with such troubled seas.
My eyes burned with fire like stung by a bee
when a bright blue horizon burst forth.
Totally around me like an island I knelt
Amidst beauty that's beyond any worth.
Never before, such fine colors I've seen
Like an angels rare and silken shawl.
Blue upon blue, such a wonderful blue
Like a wonderful blue ocean ball.
I raised my head high and started to stand
as fierce winds of wonderment blew.
Beyond the oceans of sizzling blue light
White clouds on the horizon grew.
So vast it's expansion, so amazingly bright
As I stood taller with each passing ray.
Only God can describe it. The beauty it screams.
It's the image of what God's love would say.
Standing upright; all secrets have fled
As I see what's been enveloping me.
I just had to cry for Gods graciousness
for revealing such beauty to me.
I walked back a step and was overwhelmed
to find the beauty of God's wonderment paired.
Then revealed to me was the secrets of love,
of such beauty my thoughts had not dared.
How majestic and wonderful is Gods gift of love;
Gods gift of beauty, peace and rhyme.
How majestic and wonderful is God's gift to me;
A love that conquers every time.
I step back again but steal one last stare
At the beauty in your ocean blue eyes.
None others have ever been so compelling to me
And my heart never fabricates lies.
