Trick-or-Treat friends!

It's almost Halloween. One of my most favorite holidays! My craft this month is a beautiful pumpkin votive candle holder. It is pretty and will make a wonderful decoration in your house for Halloween. I found this project to be a little messy when I was working with the glitter so make sure that you set up a work area with a cloth underneath before you start.

Have fun on Halloween and remember to beware of things that go bump in the night!

Supplies and Tools - tracing paper, pencil, scissors, votive, candle holder, glass, container, orange, paintbrush, masking tape, yellow paint, decoupage, gold glitter, pumkin face, Jack-o-lantern

Items you will need:

  1. Tracing Paper
  2. Pencil
  3. Scissors
  4. Votive Candle Holder or any small glass container
  5. Orange (Pumpkin) Votive Candle
  6. Paintbrush
  7. Masking Tape
  8. Yellow Paint (for Glass)
  9. Decoupage
  10. Orange, Copper or Gold Glitter
  11. Pumkin Face Pattern (CLICK HERE to print Pumpkin Face Pattern or just create your own)

Step 1
1. Trace the Jack-o-lantern pattern onto tracing paper.

Step 2
2. Cut out the pattern about ˝ inch from the edge of the design.

Step 3
3. Tape the pattern inside the glass.

Step 4
4. Use the pattern as a guide and paint. Paint the shapes onto the votive Candle Holder. Set aside until the paint is completely dried.

Step 5
5. Coat the outer surface of the glass container with decoupage, except the painted areas and the bottom of the container.

Step 6
6. Sprinkle glitter over the wet decoupage until well cover. Let dry completely.

Step 7
7. Brush off the excess glitter and put a light final coat of decoupage over the glittered areas only. Never immerse the votive container in water.

Step 8
8. Tada! Here is your completed Pumpkin Votive Candle Holder!
