A Little Piece Of Heaven
|
a little piece of heaven
fell through the clouds,
today.
softly it landed on the ground
by my daughter - who picked it up
and - began
to play.
watching from a distance
I could see that a strange,
but beautiful glow
was quickly surrounding her body,
heart and soul.
watching as joy rapidly spread
all across her face.
running and jumping -
I noticed the years had
began to race.
suddenly before me stood
a woman, no longer
a child.
but a parent holding
her own bundle of
love.
'thank you' I whispered,
with eyes closed shut
and head pointed upward
to the heavens above.
thank you for allowing
me to know what will
become in the end.
opening my eyes,
I found my daughter (again
as a child), standing directly
in front of me, with arms
extended out and
hands cupped.
leaning down, I couldn't help
but to smile - already knowing
what I was being shown.
the snow flake, that only
moments before had rested
in her tiny hands,
was now melted, and our
little piece of heaven
had silently gone.

- The bond you have already started building with your mother will continue to grow stronger each and every day of your life.
- Never doubt, my child, your mother and I will make every sacrifice required, no matter how great, to insure your safety and comfort.
- I want you to know, little one, I will work as many jobs as it takes to make sure you have clothes on your back and food in your stomach.
- Also remember, my child, you won't be handed everything on a silver platter, but you will never truly want for something you need.
- I might not always be able to find the words to say it or the actions to show it, but you are the joy of my life. I thank God every day for the blessing your mother and I received in you.
- As long as God is willing, I will always be here to protect you from anyone or thing that scares you.

Poems
Blessed Are The Children
feel the joy
feel the love
feel the happiness,
that can only be sent
from heaven, above.
know each experience
is exciting and
brand new.
their eyes opened
wide, seeing clear
and true.
each moment is a
representation of the
greatest event in
a young life.
allow them to know
nothing of pain
and fear.
only our love and
that we are always
near.
Blessed are the children
for they have never met
the one called failure.
nor the one called
disappointment.
Blessed are the children
because they know only
of happiness and love.
