Re-Defining Feng Shui For the purpose of reminding you to take best advantage of the monthly forecasts in your home, I have broken down the holistic and integrated method of Feng Shui into three layers using I-Ching philosophy. They are three types of energies to harness in your environment to enhance the quality of your life: Heaven, Earth, and Man Energy. The last issue re-defined Feng Shui or what I consider the holistic, and most effective approach to Feng Shui. Even though much more good Feng Shui will be explored in future issues, here’s the quick and simple lesson that I promised you in the last issue
Heaven Energy: In addition to the birth influence of your personal best/worst Earth Energy directions, the date you move in your home or Flying Star Feng Shui determines the primary Heaven Energy template that has energetic characteristics such as Financial Success, Literary Achievement, Recognition, and some less favorable attributes such as Arguments, Poor Health, and worse! When you don’t consider this aspect of Feng Shui, you may get lucky to sleep and/or work in areas with great energies, but even if you do all the other layers of Feng Shui perfectly, the Flying Stars will create less than favorable life circumstances. The Flying Star Natal Energies (determined when you moved in) is influenced by consistently-changing Yearly and Monthly Energies, each ranging from the best of the best, to the worst of the worst. As further detailed in a previous article, when each of your nine directional, magnetic areas in your space (eight directions and one in the center) has the best Yearly attribute coupled with the best Monthly attribute, that area will receive the best of the best energy. Conceptually, the more significant the function of the room that occupies any directional sector, the more the energy of the space will effect you. In the best/best scenario for example, your bedroom will have the best health and love luck. Your home office will have the best potential for success. Conversely, when a sector experiences the worst Yearly attribute, coupled with the worst Monthly attribute.... do I have to tell you? And because each of the nine values has specific, energetic attributes, the 81 Yearly/Monthly combinations (nine yearlies and nine monthlies) tell a story that effects your life. Taking advantage of the forecasts is easy! When energies are good, enhance them and make life even better! When energies are not-so, reduce their influence so you will be less in their effect. If you decoratively don’t like the enhancing or reducing suggestion, be creative and add something conceptually similar which is a wonderful Man Energy prerogative! Man Energy: YOU are perfectly centered, harmoniously balanced in between, and in the effect of Heaven and Earth. You are that "Man," the human factor that provides purpose to Feng Shui. Therefore, it important to select decorative symbols that have personal meaning for you when enhancing Heaven and earth Energy. Sometimes, Feng Shui remedies suggest you place traditional Chinese symbols to accessorize your environment. Personally, as an interior designer for over twenty-five years, I will never decorate with a Chinese flute or three-legged toad. I just can’t relate and my subconscious will scream, "What is that weird thing doing there!" Apply the concepts with items that you love to be surrounded with! Other Man Energy aspects include: developing inner strength known as Personal Chi, releasing old patterns and emotional baggage which I call chocking up those fur balls, being conscious and awareness to see when a part of your life and/or Feng Shui requires adjustment, space clearings, the influence of Feng Shui on physical health, and much more! I am thrilled to continue helping you activate your Heaven and Earth potential with all Feng Shui traditions: Compass School, Eight Mansions, Flying Stars, and Black Sect, as well as the best part of all, enhancing YOU!
