There is one characteristic which all attractive, well arranged rooms share. It is that all of the relationships between the various elements that make up the room are coordinated. Shape, color, pattern, texture, style and mood. They are different in every room but they are always there to be manipulated. It could be said that they make up the interior landscape of a room.

No hard fast rules of right and wrong design exist, but there are guidelines that are based upon common sense and eye appeal. after all, the eye is the real judge. What works and looks right or what looks attractive in your room will be what you will enjoy living with.

When you start to move your furniture into place as it was planned, you will undoubtedly find that some adjustments are necessary. For example....Although everything may fit for you, you must take top to bottom consideration into effect.....It must balance from bottom to top too!

If these or similar situations arise, try ideas that you think might work or find new solutions for old familiar ways. For instance, every sofa doesn't have to have a cocktail table in front of it. Remember, To be truly creative means to create something that never was and never will be again. So put your grand piano in the dining room and use it as your table for the party.....using acrylic barstools around it would be great!!! That's been done before, but it sure is creative, especially when you consider you can have live dinner music being played for your guests in a very direct and beautiful way.
