Favorite PrintsEach artist has certain topics he paints wonderfully. Each theme is unique to that artists and is what sets him apart from the rest. Some themes are specific to the artist, while others apply to each artist. Here are our favorite artists and the themes we believe best express their vision and skill. Oscar Claude Monet (1840-1926) is considered the archetypal Impressionist, with his devotion to painting the transient effects of light and color "en plein air" unwaveringly throughout his long career. Appropriately, it is one of his pictures, "Impression: Sunrise," which gave the group of artists painting in this style its name.
Vincent van Gogh (1853 - 1890) is one of history's favorite artists. He had an enormous influence on 20th Century Art, especially that of the Fauves and German Expressionists. His primarily self-taught style featured expressive luminosity of color and swirling, blotchy brushstrokes. His original paintings are today auctioned at extremely high prices.
